How this royalty estimate works
eBook scenarios apply the royalty plan you select and the Amazon.com delivery cost. Print scenarios apply the current 50% or 60% list-price share minus Amazon.com fixed and per-page printing cost. Taxes, returns, promotions, Expanded Distribution, and other marketplaces are outside this version.
Use this calculator before monthly profit planning so your coloring book, journal, paperback guide, hardcover, or Kindle ebook scenario starts with a visible per-sale royalty assumption. Recheck official KDP help before pricing decisions because marketplace rules, delivery fees, and print costs can change.

Worked examples
For an amazon.com eBook priced at $4.99, select the 70% plan and enter a 1 MB delivery file. The modeled royalty is about $3.39 per sale after the $0.15 delivery cost. For a 200-page standard-trim paperback with black ink at $12.99, the current model returns about $4.39 after printing cost. These are US/USD estimates; eligibility, taxes, returns, price changes, and future KDP rules can change the actual royalty.
